Derek Carr's potential landing spots in 2023

It is difficult to predict exactly where Derek Carr might land in 2023, as his future with the Las Vegas Raiders and his overall career trajectory will depend on a variety of factors such as his performance, the team's needs, and other market conditions.

That being said, there are a few potential landing spots that could be possibilities for Carr in the future. Here are a few possibilities to consider:

Las Vegas Raiders: The Raiders have shown a commitment to Carr as their starting quarterback, and it is possible that they will continue to rely on him in the future. If Carr can bounce back from any injuries or struggles and continue to perform at a high level, he could remain the team's starting quarterback for years to come.

Other NFL teams: If Carr becomes a free agent in 2023 or if the Raiders decide to move in a different direction at the quarterback position, he could potentially sign with another team. Some potential landing spots could include teams that are in need of a quarterback, such as the New York Jets or the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Retire: Another possibility for Carr could be to retire from the NFL. After a successful career, he may decide to hang up his cleats and move on to other pursuits.

Ultimately, it is impossible to know for sure where Derek Carr will end up in 2023. However, with his talent and experience, he will likely have a number of options available to him no matter what direction he chooses to go.

Who is Derek Carr?

Derek Carr is a professional American football quarterback who currently plays for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Raiders in the second round (36th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Carr played college football at Fresno State, where he was a two-time Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year and a consensus All-American. As a senior in 2013, he won the Sammy Baugh Trophy, which is awarded to the top passer in college football.

In his first three seasons with the Raiders, Carr showed promise as a quarterback, setting team records for passing yards and touchdowns. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2015 and 2016, and was considered one of the top young quarterbacks in the league.

However, Carr has struggled with injuries in recent years, missing significant time due to a broken leg in 2016 and a back injury in 2017. Despite these setbacks, he has remained a leader on and off the field for the Raiders, and has continued to put up solid numbers as a quarterback.

In 2020, Carr led the Raiders to their first playoff appearance since 2016, and earned his third career Pro Bowl selection. He finished the season with 4,103 passing yards and 27 touchdowns, and earned a spot on the NFL's All-Pro Second Team.

Overall, Derek Carr has proven to be a talented and consistent quarterback for the Raiders, and has played a key role in the team's success over the past several years. Despite some setbacks due to injuries, he has remained a leader and a key player for the Raiders, and will continue to be an important part of the team's future.
